Meet Kritika & Siddhant
How We Met:
#TheArrangedSetup
My family started looking for an appropriate match for me when I turned 27, but I always managed to escape the marriage bug a little longer to settle independently. After 8 months of rejecting men, this year things changed for me and my family after I met Siddhant and his parents. It was a fixed meeting and a tedious task for our parents as they exchanged our pictures and our natal charts to consult our respective astrologers to see if we both were compatible with each other. After a few phone conversations between my father and his mother, they fixed a family meeting.
The day had come and I was so anxious and pretty sure that I was going to run the other way after our meeting. Also, I had told my parents before meeting Siddhant and his family that I am not going to marry a stranger and commit at once and I was obviously so wrong! The moment I saw him, there were not any violins playing in the background just like another romantic scene, but my heart gave me a signal. We were left alone for 10-15 minutes so that we get to know each other better, but that wasn’t enough time.
So I took his number before we left and we started chatting over texts. It took a lot of meetings and chats to know each other. There were many ups and downs, but we both knew we were destined to be together for the rest of our lives. We tied the knot within 6 months of our first meeting and are excited to start our new journey of life together.
Wedding Day
It was a typical 5 days Himachali Pahari wedding in Dharamshala. Our parents planned our wedding in their own way, which turned out to be a huge event. We always wanted to have a traditional Pahari wedding with a modern touch. We decided to tie our knot in our own hometown in Himachal Pradesh.
I kept my looks very simple and minimalistic for all the wedding festivities. Also for the wedding day, I wore modern, yet elegant monotone red lehenga by Lasha Designs, Shahpur Jatt. Inspired by Priyanka Chopra’s bridal lehenga with real gold jewelry. For Pahari touch, I wore a huge Kangri nath which is a mandate for brides of Himachal.
