Mothers as we all know are gifted by superpowers and when it comes to their children she turns into a Superwoman who will do it all. Bride Divya’s mother planned a beautiful cross-cultural wedding for Divya & Pratik in Pune.
Meet the Bride & the Groom
Divya & Pratik met 5 years ago in Dubai where they have been working together. Starting the relationship as colleagues, the two made it a lifelong commitment. As Divya is from Himachal, based in Dubai and Pratik is from
Mumbai, wedding ceremonies were an amalgamation of Himachali & Maharashtrian traditions.
Wedding Planning
Divya & Pratik didn’t hire a wedding planner, they wanted the wedding to be intimate and not put any kind of pressure on either of the families. Pune was selected as the place for their destination wedding as Delhi and Mumbai would mean guests getting stuck in long traffics and missing the fun. The 2 days wedding at Courtyard by Marriott Pune Hinjewadi, was planned by Divya’s mother with every minute details with utmost perfection & love. Divya created a planning website and used google sheets to plan and coordinate for the wedding from stay room list to menu options to décor ideas – to agenda by every hour where his parents, her mom, they and the hotel all had access to have consistent planning.
Wedding Festivities
We had Engagement, Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet, Wedding & Reception planned over 2 days at Courtyard by Marriott Pune Hinjewadi. The wedding ceremony was Maharastrain style and Mehndi & Haldi was a mix of Himachali tradition.
For Mehndi and Haldi – Divya wore a bright floral outfit paired with a bright magenta chunni. For the engagement and sangeet – Divya opted for a more western look. For the wedding, Divya opted for a traditional Marathi bridal look. For the reception – Divya opted for an offbeat silver lehenga and added a midnight blue dupatta to add contrast. Pratik coordinated his outfits accordingly. His favorite is the reception look (blue band gala). The Bride wore white kaleeras specially procured from Himachal which are edible.
For Divya Confetti blasts and enjoying a limited gathering with my closest friends and family was the most fun part of their wedding
Quick tip for other couples planning the wedding
Plan your wedding well – I had a google website which helped me organize my wedding to the very detail, this way we were relaxed on the actual day of the event.
