Intro
When it comes to magnificent palace-style weddings, Rajasthan is what strikes the mind immediately, but this couple had a grand Padmaavat inspired wedding setup right in Mumbai. The wedding is one #Bigfatindianwedding with a grand royal setup
Ekta & Nishant
Ekta & Nishant were no strangers to each other as they have been family friends since long. No points to guess, it is a love cum arranged marriage.
The Wedding
The wedding had seven functions starting with wedding pooja and moving on to mehndi ceremony, haldi ceremony, sangeet and engagement, mandap pooja and finally the wedding & reception. The theme of the wedding and reception was inspired by PADMAAVAT.
The theme for different functions was kept quite simple mainly comprising of colour coordinations, but for sangeet, the ladies were asked to dress up in PATOLA saree, as it represents Gujarati traditions.
For the wedding, the ladies opted for Gharchola saree which is again one of Gujarati traditional saree but as the theme was Rajasthani they played around with jewellery and makeup. Jewellery was done heavy and makeup subtle to give “GUJJURAJASTHANI” look. The guests were also handed small bells which they had to ring during the pheras, so as to spread the positivity.

Wedding Planning
Ekta says “We had done loads of research on every single detail and we were stuck to our theme and most importantly we wanted our wedding to look royal wedding so we planned accordingly. We wanted completely different looks but wanted to hold the traditions together and décor and the venue was done accordingly but our most important theme for wedding and reception was Rajasthani and decoration was done similar to sets of movie Padmaavat”

From your experience what is one piece of advice or a quick tip that you would like to give to other brides-to-be?
I have done loads of research on every single thing from décor to clothes to jewellery to make up to my husband’s clothes and his jewellery even minor thing matters a lot and makes a lot of difference so before finalising on anything just see if you are getting something better than that and unless you don’t get the feeling that this is the one just do not finalise it.
