#2statewedding gets us overly excited not only are the stories interesting but the weddings are a treat to the eyes. Two families coming together to celebrate the couple and also in a way paying equal respect to each other’s cultures, traditions and celebrations. This cross-cultural Punjabi -Kannadiga wedding of Ragvi & Aashray is all about love and embracing each other’s cultures.
Meet Ragvi and Aashray
Ragvi & Ashray were first introduced to each other by common friends 5 years ago in Goa. As fate would have it, they met again in California where both of them were working at the time. After spending some time together, a few months later they realized that what they have was something special and here they are today as Mr & Mrs.
Haldi and Mehendi
The wedding celebrations took off with Haldi & Mehendi
Sangeet Night
Muhurutham
Loving Aashray’s and Ragvi’s look for the Kannadiga wedding. We must say this Punjabi Munda totally nailed the look.
Bridal Elegance
Ragvi’s traditional look has our heart from her pure Kanchipuram Saree to the temple jewellery everything is spot on.
Punjabi Wedding
Ragvi totally rocked her Punjabi Wedding look in soft pastel pink lehenga. We love how she outshines in both of her bridal looks and they are so distinct from each other.
Inspiration Behind The Looks
Bride Ragvi is a big fashion enthusiast she created an inspiration board for more than a year in advance. As they had both Kannadiga and Punjabi wedding Ragvi wanted each event to be distinct from each other. Her board included ideas from outfits to decor and eventually, they picked up colour and theme according to the events.
The most special moment of the wedding day
……From the Bride
Since we had so many events, each day was filled with many fun moments. To pick one, I think I would pick the moment when all the emotions hit me at once during the Punjabi Wedding Ceremony. As I entered the walkway with a beautiful “Phoolo Ka Chaadar” held by my little brother standing right in front of me. My mom and dad holding my hands on either side. There were beautifully dressed dancers putting on a show welcoming me. And as I walked closer, I could see the man of my dreams smiling at me. And I saw my in-laws with the biggest smile on their faces waiting to welcome me. At this moment, I felt like the reality was better than every dream I had for myself. I couldn’t stop crying 🙂
Quick Tip from the Bride to all the other brides-to-be
An Indian wedding has so many elements, that sometimes it can be very overwhelming for brides at times. So I’d like to tell the brides-to-be to just focus on the things that are most important to them because each bride is different. And on your wedding day, forget all the planning, just be present at the moment and take it all in, savour it. Because when you’re having fun, time goes by very quickly.
We strongly agree with Ragvi on this one, each bride is different and what is more important than having a perfectly well-planned wedding event is to enjoy the moment. At times things won’t go as planned, that shouldn’t stop you from having fun, just live the moment.
