I personally prefer gifting something that would be timeless and does not go out of fashion .Reason why I say this is because most of the brides/groom shop for a new wardrobe, jewellery and other essentials during wedding shopping so gifted items remain buried in the closet . Also, modern brides these days have multiple options from jeans t-shirts ,tops, skirts, maxi dresses etc so by the time the closet opens the gifted item are outdated. My pick on few things that never get outdated are

They look elegant, traditional and they are evergreen one can pass on from generation to generation.
