Despite living in a different country, getting married in an Indian Traditional Wedding Ceremony and partaking all traditional rituals is what makes this Summer Fairytale wedding in Sydney, Australia truly special. Yes, Sydney holds a special place in lives our beautiful couple Sheetal & Ryan’s. From their first magical date to having a gleeful wedding in Sydney, these lovebirds have left us spellbound with their wedding story.
The Beginning Of Fairytale
Meet our bride Sheetal who loves everything Indian from food to traditions. She met her husband Ryan in 2017. Their mutual friend thought that Sheetal & Ryan should meet as they would be perfect for one another. It was love at first sight & from their first date, the chemistry that they share is unbelievable. Ryan proposed in January 2018 and they got married in November 2019. Sheetal & Ryan did all their wedding shopping in Delhi whilst keeping their wedding day outfits a surprise.
This is what Sheetal has shared about her inspiration behind her wedding:
” I always wanted to get married in Sydney Australia. It was the city where we had our first magical date. I decided on a traditional ceremony in a temple followed by a grand wedding reception at Dolton house. Everything about Sydney reminds me of the romance that I and my husband share. Sydney will forever be a special place in our hearts.”
“I decided to go for a modern Jaipur theme with a beautiful pastel flower backdrop. There was a Ganesh Moorthy with floating flower vases. I wanted my outfit to be very colorful as I have a bright and bubbly personality. My Mehendi artist did such a great job and I was in love with my Mehendi design.” – says the bride.

“I wanted most of the events to be romantic and pastel besides the Mehendi which I wanted to be colorful to celebrate the love we share. So for the wedding, we chose the theme ” Summer Fairy Tale Wedding “. The decor was done beautifully according to the theme. Soft pastel colors white, peach and pink were used for the mandap. Flowers were placed on top of the mandap with white cherry blossoms hanging. White large entry vases with white and pink flowers hanging were places for the bridal entrance.”- says the bride.
Wedding Decor
“My inspiration behind each of my themes is what I envisaged for each event. I always pictured myself in a soft pastel lehenga walking down the aisle to my prince. I did not want to be a traditional bride wearing red, so I wanted to show other brides that it’s okay to experiment with color. Even though I do love a classic red bridal lehenga!”- says the bride.

I always envisaged chandeliers with fresh pastel blooms on the bridal table. So for décor, there were Chandeliers, ornate flower arrangement around the cake & seamless white gloss dance floor with our names in decal. ” – says the bride.
Reception
“For my reception, I wanted to wear a dress of dark plum color with lots of sparkles. I immediately fell in love with this lehenga when I saw it at Libaz. It was exactly what I pictured myself wearing.” – says the bride.
Advice For Other Brides-To-be
“Be very open and honest with your hair makeup artist. I wanted to put my hair up in a bun for my wedding ceremony although was very worried because I normally wear my hair down. My hair and makeup artist Sana Khawar created the perfect bun for my wedding day with the right amount of volume.”- says the bride.
